Welcome

My name is Tamara Florijn.

These years, I do a PhD where I try
to teach computers how to negotiate.
Take a look around to see my portfolio,

or get into contact with me.

About me

I would like to share my enthusiasm and wonder about the world, with anyone who is open to it! That's why I followed the Science Communication Specialization in Leiden. As a part of that, I did an internship at New Scientist.

With a BSc Artificial Intelligence degree in my pocket, I was able to sink my teeth into the MSc Computing Science in Utrecht. In the master, I encountered really difficult problems. What I learned: think, think more, and don't give up until the solution is in sight.

In my master's thesis, I developed geometric algorithms applied to plant seed dispersion, with Frank Staals and Sarita de Berg as supervisors and Marc van Kreveld as second proofreader. My thesis can be read here.

I am currently doing a PhD at CWI and Utrecht University under the supervision of Tim Baarslag and Pinar Yolum. In these years, I try to teach computers how to negotiate.
